Vegitarianism and mysticism (man is at one with the eco-system and the cosmos) is counterposed to the exploitative treatment of nature. Human social organisation is seen to have identity with ecological organisation, thus throwing forth the themes of Buddhist Economics, the use of non-fossil fuels, diversification and decentralisation of production, anti-urbanism, and self-sufficiency. The irrationalist moments of these interests are often contained in contradictory homologies between futurist technologies, cybernation and science fiction fantasies and primitivism. These are embodied in the homologies between Pessimist – Eschatology – Apocalypse.
